I don't think I have an ounce of creativity in my bones. Sometimes I try and fail. Like these lovely turkeys I made for Kaden's class when he was in pre-k. It sounded so simple using fruit roll-ups, raisins, pretzels, and peanut butter cookies...not so much. Rick said they looked like reindeer on acid. I think I ended up sending Kaden with Oreos.
However, that was pre-pinterest! I am on the verge of obsession when it comes to pinterest, but since I am not creative, I must copy. I found these cute hamburger cookies and decided it was worth a try. Kaden's soccer game is tonight so we'll see if the boys appreciate their snack. I used red, yellow, and green icing, thin mint cookies, and Target Nilla wafers. The original idea used green coconut for the lettuce, but I gag on coconut so I simply used icing for all of it.
A blog about being a wife and mother and the things that happen in my life. Pretty simple.

My new find!
I was at Target and I was looking for an index card holder so I can keep up with my pinterest recipes. I found this instead and had to get it! Perfect!

In the Beginning

Quick history on my family and myself, Sarah...
My husband Rick and I married in 2004, the same year I graduated college, bought our first home, and started my first teaching job. I taught high school for two years and in 2006 we had our first son, Kaden. I stayed home with Kaden for his first year before I began teaching at a mother's day out two days a week. I loved being with the littles so much I decided to start a preschool at my own church.
I am currently the director of Sprouts Preschool and this will be our fourth year open! I love working two days a week and being able to be involved with Kaden in his first year of kindergarten, and of course staying home with our second son, Hudson who was born in 2010!
I tried to go back to teaching this year, but I am thankful God had other plans for me because I could not imagine teaching full time, raising my boys, tending to the house, cooking(ha), and finding time for pinterest! I don't know how people with full-time jobs do it.
I don't know exactly what I want to do next year but I know something will come along, whether it be teaching, writing, or staying at Sprouts.
This blog (if I keep up with it) will have stories about my boys, including my husband and his constant need to diy something in our house.
